Map Compliance

A globe is a map. In China, that makes it a regulated product.

Why this page exists

Under China Map Management Regulations (State Council Order No. 664), products carrying map graphics must be reviewed before export, and the approved map must display a review number on the product. Customs checks this. A shipment without a compliant map can be seized and destroyed.

What we do

Every world map on our globes comes from standard, state-reviewed map data and carries a map review number. Approval documents are kept on file and can travel with your shipment.

What we can change, and what we cannot

✓Sphere size, material, stand design, colours
✓Logo, branding, packaging artwork
✓Label and manual language
✕National boundaries and disputed territories
✕Map content or projection changes

We print the China-standard world map by default. If your market has specific requirements on map content or boundaries, please raise them before ordering so we can confirm in advance what is possible.

Documents you can request

  • Map review approval documents (per map edition)
  • Export declaration support for customs clearance
  • EN71 / REACH / RoHS test reports (per model)
  • ISO 9001 and SMETA certificates

Why it matters commercially

Seizure, delayed clearance and re-shipment cost far more than any unit-price difference. A compliant map is the cheapest insurance available in this trade.
